Program Description The purpose of this program is to inform nurse anesthetists about the growing body of evidence supporting the use of Nasal High Flow Oxygen (HFNO) to optimize oxygenation during monitored anesthesia care and peri-intubation practice. Systematic reviews and meta-analysis demonstrate the use of NHFO can extend safe apnea time, reduce the need to perform airway maneuvers, and reduce procedural interruptions (during MAC). These attributes have significant implications for increased patient safety and work practice efficiency.
Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
It is estimated that this activity will take approximately 1 hour to complete. To receive 1 credit, learner must receive a minimum score of 80% on the post-test. Only 1 attempt is permitted to reach 80% score.
